I have read this series about 5 times, maybe more. I read them for the first time in like late middle school, early high school (14 yo).. I'm almost 30 and I love to go back to these.

The books are great, however I thought they’d come contained in a box like a “boxed set” and they didn’t. It’s just all 13 books loose which is fine, it just surprised me

I'm s senior citizen and haven't found these to be childish . Depends on how mature minded the kid is .
I'd suggest Jr. High school & up ...Some of the situations might be a bit much for younger readers .
As I said above , I wouldn't read the back cover . It kind of spoils the story line .
I recently book the 13 hard cover set here on Amazon .

I ended up remembering about these books during a late night up with friends, and decided to find them for the childhood memories, as I loved these books growing up. I did what anyone else would, and read the reviews before purchasing. I noticed a few mentioning issues in the print and issues with receiving duplicate books. I took a shot anyways, as the set was on sale at the time and I figured I could return them if something were wrong. I received a perfect package. All books were included and none were missing any chapters or pages. Well worth the purchase!
